Francisco Pereira

  • Francisco Pereira was born on February 25, 1997, in Viseu, and spent his youth in Mangualde. He began his musical career studying classical guitar at a local music school when he was only 6 years old.

    Later, as part of the articulated music teaching, he entered the Viseu Music Conservatory Dr. José Azeredo Perdigão, where he successfully completed the eighth grade in Portuguese Guitar.

    In his first year at the conservatory, he won his first prize, the revelation prize.

    During his career, he won the conservatory's instrumentalists' competition in his category every year, a competition that was part of the Spring Festival organized by the Conservatory.

    During these formative years, he was part of several groups of different styles, such as traditional Portuguese music, fado groups, cover bands, etc.

    He regularly accompanies several artists from the Portuguese music scene, more specifically, in fado, in concerts or also in various fado houses.

    He has a degree in Portuguese guitar from the Higher School of Applied Arts of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco, with the renowned master Custódio Castelo as his teacher.

    After teaching at several schools in the north of the country, he is currently a Portuguese Guitar teacher at the Artistic School of Music at the National Conservatory.
